AgriStack Maharashtra 2026: Farmer ID Registration on mhfr.agristack.gov.in

Maharashtra’s AgriStack Farmer Registry runs on the official portal mhfr.agristack.gov.in. Farmers register with Aadhaar, link their land from the 7/12 extract, and receive a Farmer ID. With 1,36,28,992 Farmer IDs on 6 August 2026, Maharashtra has the second-largest Farmer Registry in India, and it is one of the states the Government cites most often for actually using AgriStack to deliver benefits.

Why Maharashtra matters in the AgriStack story

Maharashtra was early. The official AgriStack FAQ (2024) noted that Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh had created Farm IDs for 100% of their land records, and that Maharashtra “has gone further and enabled changes” that happen during mutation. This means land changes recorded on the 7/12 can flow into the registry.

The state is also cited for using the registry at scale:

• Disaster relief: PIB reported in March 2026 that Maharashtra used AgriStack for “the transfer of over ₹14,000 crore to 89 lakh farmers for Kharif 2025 crop losses in 5 days”.
• Scheme delivery: the Ministry told Parliament in August 2026 that, as reported by the Government of Maharashtra, AgriStack is being used for loan waiver schemes, benefits through the MahaDBT and PoCRA DBT platforms, disaster relief and rehabilitation, and fertiliser distribution.
• Advisory: Maharashtra has developed an AI-based application, MahaVistar, which the Ministry says gives farmers local-language information on weather, crop management, pests and market prices.

This is why many Maharashtra farmers search for “DBT Farmer ID”: state DBT schemes increasingly rely on it. Always check each scheme’s own conditions on its official page.

What you need before registering

• Your Aadhaar number and the mobile linked to Aadhaar.
• Your 7/12 extract details: district, taluka, village and survey or gat number for each plot. You can view your 7/12 and 8A on Mahabhulekh.
• Check that the owner name on the 7/12 matches your Aadhaar name as closely as possible.

If the 7/12 still shows a deceased family member, apply for the heirship mutation (varas nond) at the Talathi office before registering. The national FAQ lists pending mutation as a common rejection reason.

How registration works in Maharashtra

Maharashtra uses the same AgriStack reference application as other states, so the general flow is:

1. Open mhfr.agristack.gov.in and choose the farmer option. New users create an account.
2. Verify Aadhaar with the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile, register a mobile number and set a password.
3. Log in and start farmer registration. Check the details fetched from Aadhaar.
4. Claim your land: select district, taluka and village, enter the survey or gat number, choose your name from the owners list and add the plot. Repeat for each plot.
5. Verify the lands. The system compares your Aadhaar name with the 7/12 owner name.
6. Accept the consent and declarations and sign with Aadhaar OTP-based e-Sign.
7. Save the enrolment number sent by SMS and track your status on the portal.

Registering through a CSC

The Ministry said in August 2026 that while farmers can self-register on their phones, Maharashtra ran a campaign through Common Service Centres (CSCs) “to ensure that the maximum number of farmers obtain their Farmer IDs at the earliest”. Forest Rights Act holders

Maharashtra has begun generating Farmer IDs for farmers who hold land under the Forest Rights Act, 2006. As of 4 August 2026, 22,597 forest rights holders had registered, according to the Ministry. If you hold a forest rights title, ask your taluka agriculture office or Talathi how to register.

Approval and status

After you submit, your claim is checked. Claims with a strong name match may be approved automatically, while others are reviewed by revenue officials. The exact thresholds for Maharashtra are not published in the documents we checked. Once approved, the national FAQ says the Farmer ID is generated within about 24 hours.

Maharashtra’s growth between March and August (about 3.4%) was slower than the national average, which is expected for a state that registered most farmers early.
