This page explains how AgriStack.net decides what to publish and how we try to keep it correct. Our goal is simple: a farmer should be able to act on our guides without being misled.

Sources we rely on

We use official sources first, in this order of preference:

  1. The national AgriStack website (agristack.gov.in) and documents published there, such as the Farmer Registry FAQ.
  2. Written replies by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in Parliament, published on sansad.in, and releases from the Press Information Bureau.
  3. State Farmer Registry portals (addresses ending in agristack.gov.in), state user manuals, and state or district government websites (.gov.in or .nic.in).
  4. State land record portals for land record terms and procedures.

We may read news reports to learn that something has changed, but we do not treat a news report as confirmation. When we mention a fact that only a news outlet has reported, we say so.

How we verify facts

  • Portal links. Before a state portal address is listed, we check that it opens and shows the Farmer Registry application. The check date appears on the page. If a link cannot be confirmed, we show “verification pending” and do not link it.
  • Statistics. Figures are copied exactly from the government document, including its “as on” date. Our data script adds up every table and compares it with the printed total. If the source itself has an inconsistency, we publish the figures as printed and explain the difference rather than changing numbers.
  • Helpline numbers. We list a number only when it appears on an official government page, and we link to that page.
  • Procedures. Where states follow the national design, we describe the common steps. Where states differ, or where we could not confirm a detail, we tell the reader to check the state portal instead of guessing.

What we will not publish

  • Invented statistics, deadlines, eligibility rules, support numbers or legal requirements.
  • Fake portal screenshots or images that imitate official ID cards, notices or login screens.
  • Pages that pretend to be a government service, or forms that ask for Aadhaar numbers, passwords or OTPs.
  • Near-identical pages created only to target keyword variations, such as one page per village with no real information.
  • Fake reviews, testimonials or author credentials.

Status of articles

Every article has an internal status: research needed, draft, needs fact check, needs image, needs editorial review, approved or published. Only approved and published articles appear on the public website and in our sitemap. Drafts can be previewed privately but are marked noindex.

Images

Photographs and illustrations on this site are original images created for AgriStack.net with an AI image-generation tool, or diagrams drawn by our own build scripts. They are illustrations. They do not show real people, real portal screens or real documents, and our diagrams are labelled “Not an official government screen”.

Dates

We show the date an article was first published and, separately, the date it was meaningfully updated. We do not change dates just to make a page look new. The year in a title (for example “2026”) is used only when the page has been reviewed for that year.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, please tell us through the contact page and include the page address and the official source that shows the correct information. We correct factual errors as soon as we can confirm them and update the “Updated” date. Significant corrections are mentioned in the article.

Independence

AgriStack.net is not affiliated with any government body. No government department, CSC operator or company pays us to publish or change a guide.
