AgriStack Bihar 2026: Farmer Registry Registration on bhfr.agristack.gov.in

Bihar’s Farmer Registry is on the official portal bhfr.agristack.gov.in. Note the state code: “bh”, not “br”. Farmers register with Aadhaar, claim land from the state’s jamabandi records, and receive a Farmer ID. Bihar had 55,50,075 Farmer IDs on 6 August 2026, up 18% since March.

A common difficulty for Bihar families is land that is still recorded in the name of a deceased parent or grandparent, because the inheritance mutation was never completed. This guide explains how that affects registration and what you can do.

Prepare your jamabandi details

You need, for each plot:

• district, circle (anchal) and mauza (revenue village);
• khata and khesra numbers from the jamabandi or land record;
• the raiyat (holder) name as recorded.

Bihar’s land records are on Bihar Bhumi, run by the Revenue and Land Reforms Department. It lets you view the jamabandi register by district, circle and mauza, check online mutation (dakhil-kharij) status, and apply for Parimarjan corrections to the jamabandi. If your jamabandi has errors, fixing them through Parimarjan before claiming land in the Farmer Registry avoids a rejected claim.

The inheritance problem in Bihar

The official AgriStack FAQ lists, among the most common reasons for rejected claims: “The owner has passed away, but the land records have not been updated (mutation has not occurred) and stand in name of dead person and not the farmer.”

If your jamabandi is in the name of your father or grandfather:

1. Your claim will likely fail the name match, because your Aadhaar name will not match the recorded holder.
2. The long-term fix is mutation (dakhil-kharij) at the circle office, transferring the jamabandi to the legal heirs.
3. The FAQ allows states to bring legal heirs into the registry “pending updating to ROR”, with officials’ approval. Whether and how Bihar does this should be confirmed with your circle or agriculture office.

Registration on BHFR

1. Open bhfr.agristack.gov.in, choose the farmer option and create an account using Aadhaar OTP, a mobile number and password.
2. Log in and start registration. Check the details from Aadhaar.
3. Claim land by district, circle and mauza, entering the khesra or survey number and choosing your name from the owners list.
4. Verify all lands to see the name-match result.
5. Give consent and complete Aadhaar OTP e-Sign.
6. Keep the enrolment number sent to your mobile.

Bihar’s figures

The March 2026 PIB release text mentioned “47.63 lakh Farmer IDs in Bihar”, while the annexure in the same release gives 46,94,398. We show both. Bihar added 8,55,677 Farmer IDs between March and August, the third-largest increase of any state. In the Rabi 2025-26 Digital Crop Survey, Bihar recorded 1,82,88,483 plots. Farmer Registry vs Bihar DBT Agriculture

Bihar’s agriculture department has long used its own DBT registration for state schemes. The Farmer Registry is different: it creates the national AgriStack Farmer ID. You may be asked for both, but having one does not mean you have the other.
