Assam’s AgriStack Farmer Registry is on the official portal asfr.agristack.gov.in. Farmers register with Aadhaar, claim land using the dag and patta numbers from Assam’s land records, and receive a Farmer ID. Assam had 14,64,996 Farmer IDs on 6 August 2026, up about 15% since March.

Assam’s land records use terms that differ from most of north India: dag for the plot and patta for the holding, organised by revenue circle and mouza. Getting these right is the key to a smooth registration.

MouzaA group of villages within a circle
Dag numberThe number of an individual plot on the village map

Before registering, get your jamabandi and note the circle, mouza, village, patta number and every dag number in your name. Assam’s online land record system is Dharitree, run by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, where you can view the jamabandi by patta or dag number. The site itself notes that if your record is missing online, you should contact your circle office.

Special situations in Assam

Annual (eksonia) patta and unsettled land

Farmers who cultivate land without a periodic patta, or on government land under annual arrangements, may not appear as owners in the jamabandi. The registry is built around the record of rights, so such cases may need guidance from the circle office or agriculture department. The Ministry has said the registry application has provisions for cultivators such as tenants and sharecroppers, but how a state uses them varies. See tenant farmers.

Tea garden and char areas

Farmers in char (riverine island) areas and those working tea garden land often have complex land situations. If your land is not in the jamabandi in your name, start at the circle office.
